Welcome to the Portofino Official App. Your privacy is of utmost importance to us, and we are committed to ensuring that your data is handled responsibly. This Privacy Policy explains how we manage your data within the app.

Location Data

Our application uses location data in both foreground and background to provide navigation features within the app. However, it does not send the device’s exact coordinates to any servers. Instead, it detects and records entry and exit from specific geographic areas of interest, along with the timestamp of these events.

This data cannot be linked to users' identities, as only a unique device identifier is stored in the database. This identifier is generated using a version 4 UUID (Universally Unique Identifier) based on a cryptographically secure random number generator. Specifically, the UuidUtil.cryptoRNG method is used to ensure a robust UUID that cannot be traced back to any sensitive or identifiable data. All such data is deleted every 24 hours.

Additional User Data

The app requests the user’s nationality solely to determine the appropriate language for displaying static content within the app and for API responses. However, no direct reference to nationality is stored: the language is simply passed in the headers of API requests each time a call is made.
